Several county jails across Alabama have experienced an increase in scams targeting families of incarcerated individuals. In these schemes, scammers use information from online inmate rosters to identify inmates and then contact their family members while falsely claiming to be law enforcement officers, jail staff, or bonding agents in an attempt to obtain money. 

As a result of these ongoing scams, we previously removed our inmate roster from public view. Despite efforts by sheriffs' offices across the state to educate the public, these fraudulent activities continue to occur. 

We are now restoring public access to the inmate roster. You will notice several modifications to the roster that have been implemented in an effort to make these scams more difficult to carry out.
